Getting There: Salvia Summit III
October
7-9, 2016
Berkeley,
CA, USA
Two international airports service the San Francisco Bay Area. The closest airport to the conference is the Oakland Airport (OAK). San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is across the Bay. Public transportation (BART) from either airport to the Berkeley area is easy and convenient, but please note that BART goes not go anywhere near Tilden so don’t count on it for your primary means of transportation during the conference.
Accommodations:
We have not booked a block of rooms in any one hotel for this Summit because in the past, participants have appreciated having a range of options from which to choose.
Many hotels in the Berkeley area are good but can be expensive. For those interested in exploring “sharing economy” options, AirBnB offers a range of opportunities for accommodations. Communities near the conference site include El Cerrito, Kensington and Berkeley.
As in any major urban area, some hotels that may sound like good, inexpensive options may not offer appropriate accommodations in safe neighborhoods. We encourage participants to use common sense and/or to contact us if they would like a second opinion.
Transportation:
There is no public transportation to the Environmental Education Center at Tilden. This means that car rentals, carpools, registered taxi services or Uber are the best means of transportation. Directions will be provided upon registration.
Although we cannot operate a formal ride-share program for the Summit and must leave it up to participants to make their own arrangements, we will do our best to circulate information about transportation and lodging needs of participants when requested.
